Alas purwo national park,Banyuwangi tour packages – Alas Puwo National park is located in blambangan peninsula in banyuwangi regency east java Indonesia. The park is famous for its wild banteng ( bos javanicus ) an surfing location at grajagan beach or G-land. The park names means first forest or ancient forest, in accordance with a Javanese legend that says the earth first emerged from ocean here. Mammals to be seen inside the park include banteng (the buffalo of Java), asiatic wild dog, leopard cat, muntjac deer and ebony leaf monkey. The park’s western beaches are noted turtle hatching areas with olive ridley, hawksbill, green and leatherback turtles all occurring.

In Javanese legend alas purwo means firs forest where earth first emerged from ocean. Many peoples comes to alas purwo for meditation especially in month suro (Javanese month calendar). Pura giri salokah a hindu temple in the park also attracts many people especially during hindu new year.

Alas purwo has plenty of lowland coastal forest but few trails to explore it, trisnggulasi beach the white sand here is beatifull but for swimming dangerous. Sadengan grassing ground has the largest herd of wild banteng (buffalo), deer, peacocks are seen here from the viewing towers. Alas purwo also has a small population of ajag (wild dogs), jungle fowl, manjac deer, sumbar deer, and leopards. Ngagelan turtle hatchery you can see tukik (baby turtle), there are two cave inside national park gua istana dan gua padepokan. From pancur 11 km we will see plengkung beach famous with big wave better time to visit between april-september. Asia’s premier surving were held here.
